Maria Andrzej Faliński holds a Doctorate in humanities from the University of Poznań. For many years he was an academic at the University of Warsaw and at the National Academy of Sciences (PAN). He participated in scientific internships and gave visiting lectures in Austria, Italy, Germany and Denmark. He is an author of many publications in the field of political science. From 1994 to 1997 he was a director in the Office of Parliamentary Affairs at the Ministry of National Defense. From 1997 to 1998 he was a director of the Strategic Analyses Department as well as of the Department of Integration with NATO at the National Security Office. From 1998 to 2000 he worked at the Foreign Investors Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Since 2000 he has been holding the position of the General Secretary of the Polish Organization of Commerce and Distribution associating big retail chains. He is interested in questions related to the history of political thought, lobbying and public relations; recent years – retail chains development analysis.
